How to unlock the login for the root?
In Ubuntu 14.xx and previous versions of Ubuntu, it was possible to log in to the graphical session as root. Now i can't do this anymore. How to unlock the root account?
One way i login to root is by rebooting in to the recovery mode, drop down to command-line login as root and execute startx.
Second way is by switching in to the Command-Line by pressing the Ctrl+Alt+F2 (F3, F4, F5...) keys, login as root and the executing the command startx
But i want to login with the normal login interface. It's a stupid feeling to hack your own computer ;-(

Operating System: KDE neon 5.15

Why do you want to login as root, to GUI? You can do everything as normal user withsudo. What are you trying to achieve?

Display manager and desktop environment are independent: You can use any display manager with neon. As for why login as root: I am only pointing out an alternative, if you know all this then yes it is up to you. I regularly login to my containers as root, because I know I will reset them.
