I installed Linux Mint to Asus GL553VW laptop. I found the computer was unable to install Mint directly so I disabled nouveau from parameters. I see that I can use my laptop now but my screen resolution is low. Can I set it higher? I have installed nvidia-driver-390 and I'm using Cinnamon.

  • Could you provide some more details like if you are using Nvidia proprietary driver or what desktop environment you are using? Could you add the outputs of uname -a, lspci -k | grep -EA3 'VGA|3D|Display', lsmod | grep "kms|drm"?
